So I'm having a crisis of conscience here.  There's construction going on next door, so for the past week I've been awoken at 6:30 AM by the hammering and loud eastern European yelling of men balanced on scaffolding a few feet away from my window.  Technically, Chicago law prohibits construction noise before 7 AM.  Part of me really wants to file a complaint with the police.  My unemployed condition makes it unnecessary to wake up before 9 (that's when the job postings really start popping up on Craigslist) and gosh darn, I'd at least like to sleep peacefully until 7.  The other part of me realizes that I'm a big jerk.  These guys are just doing their job, right? But they are breaking the law too... I'm so torn.  Maybe my prayers will be answered and today will be the last day they spend creating their cacophony of construction, but it not I'd like your opinion.  Should I be that asshole and report them?
