There are very few things that I dislike about Chicago.  One of those things is their public transportation.  It's atrocious.  But even worse than the undependability or the delays, is the design of Chicago's L, or subway, cars.  The design of the car is such, that if all of the seats are taken, there's a very narrow corridor for folks left to stand in.  The corridor is so narrow that you cannot stand without your butt being directly pressed up against someone else's.  I'm not sure why, but this makes me unreasonably uncomfortable.  I don't mind a little closeness on the train car, but this is just too much for me.
